Braking!

Today I have been preparing the braking lines, calipers, master cylinders and levers. The adjustable CNC milled Rizoma levers are now fitted on to the radial Brembo master cylinders (originally mounted on a 848).

I prepared this before assembling the suspension and engine in the frame.. So if it is rolling I can stop it as well, makes it easier to maneuver the motorcycle! Forgot to do that while building the VertiGO, and hated to roll the bike through the workshop.

Assembling the motorcycle soon..

Finally a date is planned to assemble the frame, engine, suspension and wheels of my motorcycle. This will be done at Star Twin.

When the "rolling chassis" is finished the real shaping starts! Last week I bought a Ducati 1098 seat, which will increase the racy look of the motorcycle. The bike will be named 4Nol; after my grand pa who infected me with the motorcycle and workshop virus. So this motorcycle will be a tribute to my grand pa, this bike is for Nol!

Motorcycle parts update..

Since I am bringing this blog back to life I uploaded some interesting photo's of my motorcycle project. Some of these pictures have been shared via Twitter, but now I have the timeline of this project chronological again!

Some really nice CNC milled Rizoma parts arrived a about two months ago. Thanks to Rizoma for sponsoring this great project! And of course Super-B for supplying the powerful Super-B 7800 Lithium-ion battery!

I have bought all the parts for the rolling chassis; swingarm, rear shock, bolts and bearing.. All this will be assembled, around a completely overhauled Ducati Monster 900ie engine, end of March!

Sketch update

After a silent period on this blog I tweaked and pimped it a little bit. now it matches the look and feel of my personal website and Twitter account better! I will use this blog in the near future to post short stories about the build of my own motorcycle build.

End of March I will assemble the rolling chassis, finally... I try to speed up the project so it will be finished before the Dutch TT in Assen, end of June 2012!

For the time being, I uploaded some of the key sketches of the project. Follow my Twitter, I will post a message when I uploaded more photo's and sketches of the Ducati racer.
